Editorial policy

Independence

Racket & Rally is funded entirely by affiliate commission. No brand, retailer or agency pays for placement, coverage or position. No manufacturer is shown a page before it publishes, and nobody outside the site has approval over its content.

Commission rates vary between products and between retailers. They play no part in ranking. Where a cheaper product is the better buy for the reader, it ranks first — buyer interest beats commission, without exception.

Sourcing standards

• Every factual product claim carries a source: a manufacturer specification page, a named retailer listing, or a named review outlet.
• Specifications are never written from memory. If a spec cannot be verified from a page we retrieved, we describe the characteristic qualitatively instead of inventing a number.
• Outlets are named in the visible text, not hidden behind a hyperlink, so you can weigh the source without hovering over a link.
• Citations to manufacturers and review outlets are normal editorial links. Only affiliate links carry rel="sponsored nofollow".
• We cite other outlets' measurements, never their conclusions. Copying a ranking would be both a trust failure and plagiarism.
• We never cite a source we did not actually retrieve.

What we will not publish

• Fabricated prices, discounts or savings claims of any kind.
• Star ratings, review counts or customer quotes we cannot verify — which in practice means none at all.
• Any claim of first-hand testing, lab measurement or hands-on use. See how we choose.
• Credentials, qualifications or a playing rating for the author that have not been established.
• Products that are not currently sold, or an ASIN or product code we cannot verify.
• Manufactured urgency — no countdown timers, no "only three left", no invented seasonal deadlines.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and we say we did. Material corrections — a wrong specification, a discontinued product, a claim we could not support — are made in the page itself, and the page's "updated" date changes to reflect it.

Update cadence

Racquet model lines turn over roughly annually, and shoe lines more often than that. Our commitment:

• Availability is re-checked on every substantive update to a page. A discontinued model is replaced with its current equivalent or removed, never left in place.
• Specifications are re-verified against the cited source whenever a product generation changes.
• The "updated" date on a page changes only when the content actually changed. We do not refresh dates to look current.

Author

Every page on this site is written by Janet H., the owner and editor. There is no editorial team, no guest contributor program, and no AI-generated content published without a human author taking responsibility for it. The byline on a page is the person accountable for it.

Medical and safety content

Several pages discuss equipment choices for tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis and ankle stability. That is equipment guidance, not medical advice. Persistent pain needs a physiotherapist or a doctor, and we say so explicitly on every page where it comes up.
